About the Department and the Team

At ABB Marine & Ports, we work on advanced electrical installations for the maritime sector. Our technologies in the fields of power, drives, and automation have met the high standards of marine and offshore applications for decades.

As a Project Manager, you lead an (international) project team. Together, you work on complex, multidisciplinary projects such as shore-to-ship systems, where both onboard and onshore installations are integrated. These projects are carried out using ABB’s own product lines and are always connected to the maritime world.

Your Role and Responsibilities

As Project Manager, you hold final responsibility for the successful execution of projects. You lead the project team, monitor progress, and serve as the primary point of contact for both internal and external stakeholders.

Tasks:

• Leading the project team.
• Stakeholder management: maintaining contact with customers, suppliers, and internal departments.
• Coordinating operational activities within the project.
• Ensuring safety and compliance with regulations during execution.
• Selecting and contracting suppliers and subcontractors.
• Managing documentation and technical specifications.
• Building and maintaining long-term customer relationships.
• Project planning and budget control.
• Conducting risk analyses and supporting cost calculations during the sales phase.
• Reporting to management regarding progress, risks, and results.

Your Profile

We are looking for an experienced professional with a technical background and proven leadership skills.

Qualifications:

• You have a bachelor’s or master’s level of working and thinking, with an electrical engineering background.
• You have at least 7 years of experience as a Project Manager.
• You are familiar with methodologies such as Prince2, IPMA, or PMI and are strong in risk management and progress monitoring.
• You are able to align different interests, communicate clearly, and navigate smoothly within politically sensitive environments.
• You lead (international) teams, motivate colleagues, and encourage development.
• You understand complex situations and make strategic decisions.
• You remain focused on goals, are flexible, and resilient under pressure.
• You have excellent command of both Dutch and English, verbally and in writing.
• You possess strong communication skills and are a true team player, also in international environments.
