Your Role and Responsibilities

You will have the opportunity to support the growth of ABB’s automated intralogistics business by acting as a technical and commercial enabler for sales teams and customers. You will provide day‑to‑day support through your expertise in products, applications, and automation solutions for logistics environments, working closely with customers and internal stakeholders.

You will leverage your technical knowledge and customer focus to translate operational needs into effective, scalable solutions, contributing to profitable business growth and ensuring the successful deployment of the division’s solution portfolio in line with strategic priorities.

In this role, you’ll help run what runs the world by taking on meaningful work that drives real impact, as you will be accountable for:

  • Technical sales & pre‑sales support

  • Supporting sales teams and ABB channels during pre‑sales activities by acting as a technical reference for customers, participating in customer meetings, site visits, discovery calls, and technical workshops.

  • Customer needs analysis & solution definition

  • Analyzing customer logistics processes and operational requirements (e‑commerce, retail, fashion, parcel, 3PL) and translating them into tailored automated intralogistics and robotics solutions.

  • Automation and robotics solutions

  • Contributing to the sizing and definition of solutions including mobile robotics, item picking systems, parcel and fashion induction, and hybrid automation use cases.

  • Technical offers & documentation

  • Supporting the preparation of technical specifications, preliminary layouts, and techno‑commercial offers, contributing to feasibility analysis, cost estimation, and solution validation.

  • Cross‑functional collaboration

  • Working closely with engineering, IT, project management, and after‑sales teams to ensure a smooth handover from pre‑contract to project execution, acting as a trusted technical counterpart for customers.

Qualifications for the Role

  • Degree or relevant experience in Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, or a similar technical field

  • 10+ years of experience in intralogistics automation, industrial automation, robotics, or technical sales / pre‑sales environments

  • Knowledge in automated logistics solutions, mobile robotics, picking and sortation systems, layout reading and logistics flows; familiarity with WMS/WCS/WES environments and CRM tools is considered an advantage

  • A proactive and collaborative mindset, with the ability to take ownership, innovate, and drive continuous improvement while maintaining a strong customer‑centric and solution‑oriented approach

  • You are at ease communicating in Italian and English, both written and spoken
