This position reports to the Planning & Fulfillment Manager and contributes to the Electrification Smart Power Division in the Richmond, VA area.

Work Model: Onsite

Your Role and Responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to be responsible for end-to-end planning of inventory, including Sales in Excess of invoicing from purchase requisition to customer invoice. Each day, you will support internal customer service inquiries. You will also showcase your expertise by setting inventory parameters and targets and ensuring adequate replenishment of inventory through purchase orders, ensuring material availability as per manufacturing plan.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Defining inventory policies based on specified segmentation
• Segmenting and optimizing the portfolio of materials through ABC/XYZ analysis, product lifecycle management, and commercial policy
• Responsible for end-to-end planning of inventory
• Making financial risk assessment decisions related to inventory and conducting root cause analysis when necessary
• Supporting cycle counting and/or year-end inventory counting
• Analyzing excess and obsolete/aging inventory
• Calculating and maintaining inventory parameters, including safety stock, reorder point, lot size, lead time, and replenishment strategies, in the planning systems and ERPs
• Collaborating with suppliers and driving the procurement process to achieve the best possible performance in terms of supplier on-time delivery, Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ), quality, lead time, and flexibility
• Ensuring availability of materials as per the master production schedule
• Coordinating material planning with call-offs to ensure that purchase requisitions are converted into purchase orders in collaboration with operations buyers and services
• Managing materials resource planning exception messages on a daily basis
• Taking appropriate action for optimizing inventory performance, in collaboration with Operations Planner, Sales, Marketing, Manufacturing, Procurement and Logistics functions

Qualifications for the Role

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or relevant field with at least 5+ years of experience in material planning/purchasing/supply chain
• SAP MM/PP experience is mandatory
• Data Analysis & reporting
• Inventory Management & Control
• Microsoft Office tools
• Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
