ABB’s Smart Power facility is a global centre of excellence for power conditioning technologies, specializing in the research, development, and manufacturing of advanced solutions. In this role, you’ll support key maintenance activities that ensure active products meet required standards for quality, cost, and production capacity. You’ll collaborate closely with R&D and Agile teams to provide technical input, while maintaining strong communication with Supply Chain Management and Production. You’ll also play an active part in new product development by assembling prototypes and testing emerging design concepts.

The work model for the role is: onsite

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Develop and manage engineering changes for active products while maintaining accurate technical documentation (3D models, schematics, BOMs, and assembly procedures).
  • Define production project specifications and translate R&D developments into market‑ready, mass‑production‑capable products.
  • Lead problem‑solving investigations in collaboration with Quality and Process teams.
  • Provide hands‑on support to production lines and ensure assembly and packaging instructions remain current.
  • Maintain high standards of documentation control to support efficient manufacturing and product reliability.

Qualifications for the role

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience), with strong attention to detail
  • Proficient in 3D modelling using Solid Works or similar software
  • Skilled in 2D drafting tools such as AutoCAD
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with SAP and exposure to power electronics equipment is advantageous
  • Ability to work accurately and efficiently across technical tasks and documentation
