ABB's Electrification business has always been at the forefront of innovative electrification and today is writing the future of safe, smart and sustainable electrification. You will contribute significantly to successful results in development of Electrification solutions for customers around the world. As a part of our simulation team, you will utilize your knowledge and skills to support the design and development of the products that stay ahead of time.

The work model for the role is: hybrid

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Cooperation with international design teams on development and optimization of new ABB electrification products like switchgears, apparatus, electronics and others.
  • Carry out electromagnetic simulations based on 2D/3D CAD models on large and complex assemblies coupled with circuit models.
  • Document simulation results and propose design improvements to optimize product performance

Qualifications for the role:

  • University degree in electrical, electronics, automation, power engineering or related discipline
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in numerical simulations (e.g. CST, Ansys Maxwell, SIwave, HFSS, SIMetrix, MATLAB)
  • Experience in 3D CAD modeling: solid and surface modeling (e.g. Space Claim, Discovery, Solid Works, Creo)
  • Fundamentals of electric and magnetic fields
  • Knowledge in area of electrical engineering (required to understand the ABB products specifications and design requirements)
  • Good command of English and strong communication skills
  • Experience in high voltage testing is desirable
  • Knowledge in area of electrical discharges is desirable
  • Knowledge in area of EMC | EMI | SI | PI will be beneficial
  • Although not obligatory, knowledge/experience in any of the following will be beneficial: writing subroutines (User Defined Functions); Python, C++; code development and maintenance will be beneficial
