Position Overview

This position reports to the Service Sales Manager.

About the Role

In this role, you will have the opportunity to drive service sales processes, generate service sales opportunities and secure profitable sales within the designated areas. Each day, you will focus on Installed Base (IB) penetration and selling the entire Service product portfolio. You will also showcase your expertise by building long-term customer relationships and ensuring immediate response to specific customer needs and issues.

Responsibilities

You will be mainly accountable for:

1. Service sales delivery

  • In collaboration with the Service Sales Manager and/or Service Manager, implement Service sales strategy
  • Penetrate IB, promote various upgrade, retrofit and value add solutions to the benefit of the customer and ABB
  • Understand the channel strategy and the establishment of related prices and prepare sales plans, review them and propose recovery plan(s) when needed
  • Regularly update installed base in ServIS (the approved Service database) with the changes made at site

2. Volume and profit

  • Utilize ServIS to understand the existing installed base (IB) and identify and develop sales opportunities for Service products and solutions to penetrate the existing IB/new IBs in the market
  • Focus on the entire Service portfolio to secure profit for assigned Business/Product Groups

3. New opportunities

  • Generate Service sales leads and develop new market opportunities by utilizing market trend information, identifying and exploring potential new service portfolios
  • Take a One ABB approach to leverage other colleagues' portfolios

4. Customer approach

  • Establish long term customer relationships by understanding customer requirements and applicable regulations and demonstrating in-depth technical service product/solutions knowledge to promote Life Cycle Management (LCM)
  • Register customer feedback and ensure customer satisfaction throughout the sales process

5. Sales process

  • Sell entire service product portfolio to expand ABB footprint in the designated area(s)
  • Chart out and monitor sales proposals, tenders and follow up proposal statistics
  • Prepare ABB's Service offerings based on customer need and in coordination with the local Service Sales Manager and/or Service Manager
  • Communicate contract details in accordance with ABB offering and strategy
  • Manage administrative sales processes

6. Marketing

  • Act as a marketer/salesperson of ABB's service products and solutions during marketing activities (trade fairs, exhibitions, conferences, customer meetings)
  • Translate the needs of customer into relevant ABB Service offerings and solutions

7. Health, safety and integrity

  • Contribute to risk assessments related to price and quality
  • Register required information into the appropriate customer database
  • Ensure technical reliability, safety and cost effective solutions to satisfy customer's needs
  • Comply with health and safety directives

Qualifications

  • Bachelor or master degree, Major in science or engineering (electrical automation major is preferred)
  • At least 3 year's sales experience in related industries
  • Strong sales competency with digital capability & knowhow
  • At least experience and knowledge of digitalization (automation) project
  • Strong learning ability
  • Customer orientation
  • Strong sense of responsibility and personal integrity
  • Result driven
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, be good at team work
  • A mindset to innovate, take ownership, and drive continuous improvement
