About the program
In our
Graduates In Training: Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) & Sustainability, you will develop skills necessary to kickstart a career in the division you are assigned in at ABB. All our Young Talent Programs are based on the 70:20:10 Model of Learning and Development which is: Hands-on (70%); Asking questions (20%) Classroom (10%).
As a trainee, you will support the planning, coordination, and execution of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and sustainability initiatives, contributing to the organisation’s social impact, ESG objectives, and stake-holder engagement. This role is designed to develop a recent graduate into a well-rounded CSR professional through practical experience, structured learning, and mentorship.
Your role and responsibilitiesCSR Programme Support and Implementation– Help plan and execute community development programs, coordinate volunteering activities, and engage with both internal teams and external stakeholders (NGOs, partners).
Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting – Collect data on CSR initiatives, track outcomes, and prepare reports and dashboards on CSR performance and ESG/BBBEE compliance.
Research & Benchmark – Research sustainability trends and industry best practices to identify opportunities for improving CSR impact and effectiveness.
Governance & Administration – Provide project coordination support, ensure compliance with policies and governance frameworks, and maintain accurate project and stakeholder records.
Essential Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in one of the following (or related fields):
Social Sciences; Environmental Studies / Sustainability; Community Development; Business Management/ Bachelor of Commerce
0 –2 years’ relevant experience (internships, volunteering, or project work advantageous)
Minimum average grade of 65%
South African citizens only
Required Skills & Attributes Knowledge - Understanding of CSR, ESG, sustainability principles, and community development
**Analytical -**Strong research, analytical, and data interpretation skills
Communication - Report writing, presentation, and strong interpersonal skills
Technical - Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
Organizational - Project coordination, attention to detail, and record management
Personal Attributes - Proactive, self-motivated, collaborative, adaptable, passionate about social impact, with high integrity and professionalism
