Position Overview
Reports to: R&D Global Unit Lead GPG LVS
Work Model: #Li-Onsite
Location: Nashik, India
Division: Electrification business in Smart Power division
Your Role and Responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead a team of Research and Development (R&D) employees and support them in achieving the agreed R&D targets. Each day, you will coach and develop the team. You will also showcase your expertise by helping in managing technologies, platforms, and Intellectual Property. In this role, you'll help run what runs the world, by taking on meaningful work that drives real impact.
You will be mainly accountable for:
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of 3–4 R&D engineers, fostering engagement, innovation, and continuous improvement
- Plan and manage the R&D project portfolio, ensuring delivery of scope, schedule, cost, and quality objectives
- Act as a technical expert in Low Voltage Switchgear (busbars, enclosures, MCC, MCCB, ACB) and ensure compliance with IEC standards
- Drive technology and product roadmaps while promoting creativity and innovation within the team
- Oversee prototyping, testing, validation, and certification processes to meet quality and safety standards
- Collaborate with global R&D teams and cross-functional stakeholders to align strategies and share knowledge
- Identify and mitigate technical and project risks, while managing intellectual property and supporting patent creation
- Prepare and manage annual budgets, ensuring efficient use of funds and accurate financial forecasting

Qualifications for the Role
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (should be full-time)
- 10 to 15 years of R&D or Product Development experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership role
- Strong background in Low Voltage Switchgear design, with deep expertise in busbars, enclosures, MCC, MCCB, ACB, and protection systems
- Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop engineering teams in a global, cross-functional environment
- Experience managing R&D projects, budgets, and stage-gate processes (Gate Model, NORRD)
- Knowledge of IEC standards (IEC 61439 desirable, IEC 60947 preferred)
- Proficiency in CAD (Solid Works) and PLM/PDM systems
