This Position reports to: Business controller
As an Accounting Intern, you will be part of the Finance/Accounting team and will share responsibility with colleagues for general, financial, and manufacturing accounting for the Iberville and St‑Jean‑sur‑Richelieu business units. The position will be primarily on‑site.
Your Responsibilities
- Contribute to maintaining the asset register.
- Perform physical counts of manufacturing assets (equipment, tools, machines).
- Verify the existence and location of assets on the production floor.
- Document asset additions, removals, disposals, and transfers.
- Update information in the ERP system.
- Support reconciliation between physical assets and accounting data.
- Assist with analyses related to inventory activities and other operational expenses for the business unit.
- Actively participate in month‑end accounting processes, including account analysis, account reconciliations, journal entry creation, inventory analysis, and balance reconciliations.
- Perform various related tasks as required.
Your Background
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, with a CPA designation or in progress.
- Three to five years of experience in an accounting or financial analysis role.
- Strong analytical thinking, ability to connect different parts of a problem, collaborate effectively, and show initiative.
- Knowledge of SAP is an asset.
- Experience with Microsoft Office, with intermediate/advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Bilingualism (French and English) is considered an asset; French is required.
