Reports to: Principal Project Engineer

Work Model: L1 #Hybrid

Location: Bangalore

This role is contributing to the Process Automation Business of Energy Industry. You will be reporting to Principal Project Engineer and will be responsible for acting as the technical lead for all engineering activities in assignments classified as medium engineering complexity. You will ensure that activities related to engineering discipline within the project are executed in an efficient and cost-effective manner, in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, safety requirements and cybersecurity policies and standards.

Responsibilities

• Leading end-to-end DCS projects comprising of scope of automation systems for energy industries sectors, working on automation projects and leading activities of basic and detailed engineering of automation systems including hardware and application engineering, testing, commissioning and service
• Ensuring preparation of technical specifications that are in line with project specifications, preparing and approving of engineering deliverables like SLD, GA, FDS, etc. and performing technical review before submission to ensure that the deliverables are as per the customer technical specification
• Creating proposals and developing engineering solutions
• Driving the change management (new scope of work, cost impact, time impact, risk quantifications, etc.)
• Creating schedule and having good process for planning and control
• Carrying out technical risk reviews and ensuring risks are mitigated with clear actions, working closely with cross function or LBU teams to achieve customer acceptance, consultants and ensuring timely approval of project deliverables
• Acting as the technical lead for all engineering disciplines within the project
• Interacting with customers and all stakeholders
• Attending project review meetings and presenting all technical aspects of project assignments
• Developing and coaching the project engineering team and colleagues, supporting with technical advice and guidance
• Collaborating closely with business, end users and teams to design and to address specific business or technical challenges and on time delivery
• Adhering to all the processes, tools and methodologies
• Capturing customer complaints and timely solution, updating reusable solutions, work-around and problems handled into database and following safety norms and ensuring safe working environment

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Instrumentation or Electronics & Communication or Electrical & Electronics Engineering
• Minimum 13 to 15 years of experience in process automation – especially in the field of Oil & Gas or Refineries or Petrochemicals or Power & Water
• Experience in process control automation system
• Hardware & application engineering, HMI engineering, library development, 3rd party communication, FAT and SAT
• Knowledge on process or Fire & Gas protection systems or emergency shutdown systems
• Knowledge on IEC 61508 and IEC 61511 standards
• Knowledge on field instrumentation (sensors, transducers, drives related to pressure, flow, temperature, level, etc.)
• Experience in leading DCS - Brownfield scope of work, application modifications, retrofits, system upgrades, services and commissioning
• Working knowledge on interfaces (Profibus, Modbus, OPC, IEC61850, etc.)
• Knowledge on UNIX, Windows, .NET
• Good knowledge of network engineering and IT developments (PC handling, Windows applications, PC configurations, virus scanners, interfaces and backup)
• Technical lead experience in virtualization concepts, ESXi Setup, raid configuration and VMware configuration, configuring Mac Afee epo, WSUS, etc.
• Knowledge in designing system and network hardening and develop detailed cyber security designs
• Working knowledge on domain configuration and active directory configuration for larger systems includes defining group policies, managed switches, routers and firewalls

Preferred Experience

• Experience in ABB systems like 800xA, MOD 300, SG400, Advant, AC800M, Harmony, Infi90, Melody, Process Portal B, Symphony Plus
• Experience in advanced services - cybersecurity, process performance optimization
