Your role and responsibilities

You will lead the Sales Support team and oversee the implementation of sales support strategy for the ELSE Primary Service Center Italy export business. You will ensure world-class technical and commercial support for internal and external customers across multiple markets and countries. Every day, you will drive sales growth, monitor business results, and enable your Area Managers to successfully sell our Low Voltage and Medium Voltage product portfolio, whilst overseeing estimations, bids, and proposals ensuring alignment with ABB standards, commercial targets, and Operational Results (OR) KPIs.

In this role, you’ll help run what runs the world by taking on meaningful work that drives real impact, as you will be accountable for:

  • Lead, mentor, and manage the Sales Support team and Area Managers accountable for export business; set clear targets, develop team capabilities, and drive accountability for sales growth and OR KPI achievement across designated countries.

  • Develop and implement the local sales support strategy aligned with ABB Electrification Service (ELSE) global vision; monitor, review, and adjust approach to ensure continuous improvement and market competitiveness.

  • Monitor project pipeline, identify sales opportunities, remove blockers, and enable the team to accelerate deal closure.

  • Drive enablement initiatives for LV and MV product portfolio.

Qualifications for the role

  • Proven experience leading sales teams: 8+ years in sales management or sales support leadership roles, with demonstrated success in growing export business, achieving revenue targets, and driving OR KPI performance.
  • Deep expertise in LV & MV electrical product portfolios and the electrification/electrical distribution market; or equivalent circuit breakers, switchgear, and retrofit solutions.
  • Highly adept with sales enablement tools, CRM platforms (SAP, Salesforce, or equivalent), and project pipeline management methodologies; experience with multi-country sales coordination and international market dynamics.
  • You are passionate about team development, strategic thinking, and delivering commercial excellence; you are captivated by driving sales growth, building high-performing teams, and solving complex customer challenges through innovative sales approaches.
  • Degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Commercial Management, or related field is preferred.
  • You are fluent in Italian and English; proficiency in additional European languages (German, French, Spanish) is a plus.
  • You demonstrate strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills; ability to thrive in a matrix organization with cross-functional collaboration.
