Your role and responsibilities
In this role you will have the opportunity to lead a team of HSE experts. Each day, you will make sure the team keeps developing capabilities and skills, supporting the business in the implementation of policies, practices and programs. You will also showcase your expertise by driving behavioral change and HSE learning within the organization.
The work model for the role is: onsite
This role is contributing to the Distribution Solutions division in China.
You will be mainly accountable for:
- Serves as the primary HSE interface within their assigned area of responsibility and cultivates a high-performance culture with a strong focus on HSE. Assists the line managers and supervisors in their respective organization in understanding their obligations, liabilities, and requirements for role fulfillment, as per local HSE law and ABB management requirements.
- Ensures that HSE capabilities are optimized and aligned to standards, processes, guidelines, and best practices. Ensures that the appropriate HSE-related equipment and tools are available and used effectively. Oversee HSE risk assessment conducted by the line management and ensures all necessary preventive measures against the identified hazards are implemented.
- Ensures the HSE incidents are reported to the management and relevant stakeholders and takes appropriate actions. Drives behavioral change through the local implementation of group-wide and business-specific performance improvement programs and practices. Embeds an exemplary health and safety culture and a strong focus on the environment across their respective organization.
- Reports HSE performance and progress with respect to the implementation of the group-level HSE objectives and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), as required. Participates in determining the annual budget for their own area of responsibility and is accountable for managing performance against agreed financial targets. Drives HSE-related learning across the organization for continuous improvement. Ensure feedback is provided to the management and employees on lessons learned and best practices from within their own unit and across ABB.
Qualifications for the role
- Bachelor or above in Safety Engineering
- OHS/Operation function: Risk Management. Regulations & Legal Compliance. Process Improvement & Optimization. Consulting. Operations management. Project management. General Finance. Planning & organizing. Safety. Strategic thinking. Market and trends orientation. Specialist sustainability knowledge
- Fluent speaking, good written skill in both Chinese and English
- Good communication and presentation skills
- Good collaboration with cross functions and team working
- Strong Leadership and team working capability. Ability to motivate and develop people
- Result-orientated and high responsibility on the tasks. Strong ability on problem solving.
