Summer Internship: Motor Monitoring & Industrial Networks
About ABB
At ABB, we help industries outrun - leaner and cleaner. Here, progress is an expectation - for you, your team, and the world. As a global market leader, we'll give you what you need to make it happen. It won't always be easy, growing takes grit. But at ABB, you'll never run alone. Run what runs the world.
Your Role and Responsibilities
Join ABB for a dynamic summer where you'll work on two exciting areas: analyzing the business value of motor monitoring solutions and testing cutting-edge industrial communication technologies. You'll investigate whether the cost of installing sensors and data collection systems on industrial motors is justified by the performance improvements and savings they deliver, working with real data from various industries. Additionally, you'll support lab activities testing 5G, Wi-Fi 6, and Time-Sensitive Networking technologies for industrial automation, helping validate how these networks perform in real-world scenarios.
This hands-on role offers you the chance to develop analytical and technical skills, work with advanced lab equipment and industrial systems, and contribute to solutions that help customers make smarter investment decisions while advancing next-generation industrial connectivity. You'll gain practical experience bridging business analysis and technical validation in a state-of-the-art environment.
You will be mainly accountable for:
- Analyze motor monitoring costs and benefits
- Support industrial network testing
- Organize and visualize data
- Contribute to lab operations
- Create cost-benefit comparisons
