This role sits within ABB's Robotics business, a leading global robotics company. We're entering an exciting new chapter as we've announced the plan for Soft Bank Group to acquire ABB Robotics. Soft Bank is a globally recognized technology group and investor/operator focused on AI, robotics, and next-generation computing. Work model: Onsite
Your Responsibilities
- Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and systems using CAD software (e.g., Solid Works, AutoCAD, CATIA) to meet technical agreement with customers
- Perform detailed engineering analysis, including DFM
- Create technical drawings, specifications, and Bill of Materials (BOM) for manufacturing
- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure designs are manufacturable and meet quality standards
- Support prototyping, testing, and validation activities to verify design performance and durability
- Troubleshoot design issues, propose improvements, and implement cost-saving and innovated solutions
- Stay updated with industry trends, materials, and manufacturing technologies to enhance design efficiency and innovation, competitiveness
Qualifications for the Role
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or above
- 3+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in lab automation and robotics industries
- Good communication in English both in written and oral is preferable
- Customer minded person and good team worker
- Result oriented and stress resistant person, willing to take risk and responsibility to help the business growth
- Proficiency in CAD software (Solid Works, AutoCAD, CATIA, or equivalent)
- Strong understanding of mechanical principles, materials science, and manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, casting, sheet metal)
- Experience with simulation tools for stress analysis and thermal modeling is preferable
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
