Your role and responsibilities:
ABB is seeking an experienced Facility Manager to oversee the operations, maintenance, and safety of our R&D Competence Center and Laboratory facilities. This role is critical to ensuring a safe, efficient, and world-class environment for research, development, and innovation activities.
This role is contributing to the Electrification business Smart Power Division in Hyderabad, India.
You will be mainly accountable for:

Manage daily facility operations including DG sets, UPS, Solar Installations, compressors, LT Panels & different types of switch gears distribution and power Transformers, chillers, HVAC Systems, BMS, LMS, AHUs, Security systems (CCTVs, Access Management systems, PA Systems), and building infrastructure

Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for all equipment/systems and Maintain detailed facility documentation and records

Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations (HSE)

Coordinate with external contractors for specialized maintenance and repairs

Manage facility budgets and control operational costs

Maintain inventory of spare parts, equipment, and supplies
-
Respond to emergency situations and coordinate urgent repairs

Monitor and optimize energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives

Support facility expansion and improvement projects

Manage housekeeping, waste management, and environmental compliance
Qualifications for the role
-
Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)

Minimum 7-10 years of experience in facility management, preferably in R&D or laboratory environments

Strong knowledge of building infra viz, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building systems

Experience with preventive maintenance planning and execution

Proficiency in facility management software/systems

Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
-
Excellent communication and team coordination skills
-
Knowledge of energy management and sustainability practices
