Your role and responsibilities:

ABB is seeking an experienced Facility Manager to oversee the operations, maintenance, and safety of our R&D Competence Center and Laboratory facilities. This role is critical to ensuring a safe, efficient, and world-class environment for research, development, and innovation activities.

This role is contributing to the Electrification business Smart Power Division in Hyderabad, India.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Manage daily facility operations including DG sets, UPS, Solar Installations, compressors, LT Panels & different types of switch gears distribution and power Transformers, chillers, HVAC Systems, BMS, LMS, AHUs, Security systems (CCTVs, Access Management systems, PA Systems), and building infrastructure

• Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for all equipment/systems and Maintain detailed facility documentation and records

• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations (HSE)

• Coordinate with external contractors for specialized maintenance and repairs

• Manage facility budgets and control operational costs

• Maintain inventory of spare parts, equipment, and supplies

• Respond to emergency situations and coordinate urgent repairs

• Monitor and optimize energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives

• Support facility expansion and improvement projects

• Manage housekeeping, waste management, and environmental compliance

Qualifications for the role

• Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)

• Minimum 7-10 years of experience in facility management, preferably in R&D or laboratory environments

• Strong knowledge of building infra viz, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building systems

• Experience with preventive maintenance planning and execution

• Proficiency in facility management software/systems

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities

• Excellent communication and team coordination skills

• Knowledge of energy management and sustainability practices
