Your role and responsibilities

In this role, The Technical Specialist for Low Voltage Switchboard is responsible for providing technical expertise, support, and solutions for ABB's low voltage switchboard offerings for partner program. This role combines deep technical knowledge with customer-facing responsibilities to drive business growth and ensure successful project delivery.

This role is contributing to the ABB India, Electrification Business Smart Buildings Division in India. will be based at Bangalore – India”.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Technical Support & Design: Provide pre-sales technical support for low-voltage switchboard solutions, including system design, engineering, feasibility studies, and support for accurate quotations.

• Product & Standards Knowledge: Maintain deep knowledge in LV switchboards (up to 6300A, 120kA), circuit breakers (Emax 2, Tmax XT), digital solutions (ABB Ability™), and relevant IEC/UL standards such as IEC 61439 and IAC.

• Customer Engagement: Act as a technical subject matter expert for customers, consultants, and contractors through presentations, demonstrations, site visits, and resolution of technical queries.

• Project & Execution Support: Collaborate with sales and engineering teams, review and approve technical drawings, coordinate FAT and commissioning, and troubleshoot issues during installation and execution.

• Documentation, Training & Collaboration: Develop technical documentation and training materials, conduct internal and external trainings, and collaborate cross-functionally with product management, manufacturing, R&D, and quality teams.

Qualifications for the role:

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field with 10–15 years of experience in low-voltage switchgear/switchboard design, application engineering, or sales support.

• Power Distribution Skills: Advanced skills in power distribution systems, electrical installations, and handling of industrial, commercial, and infrastructure projects.

• Switchboard & Component Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of LV switchboard systems, ABB offerings, arc fault protection (TVOC-2), ACBs (Emax 2 up to 6300A), MCCBs (Tmax XT), ATS (TruONE), and digital monitoring devices.

• Standards & Calculations: Solid understanding of IEC 61439, UL standards, protection coordination, short-circuit calculations, load analysis, and compliance requirements.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, EPLAN, or similar electrical design tools, along with calculation software, MS Office, CRM systems such as Salesforce, and familiarity with 3D modeling tools.

• Digital & Smart Solutions: Familiarity with digital solutions, IoT integration, and ABB Ability™ platforms for smart switchboards and monitoring systems.

• Professional Skills: Proficient methodological, problem-solving, communication, presentation, project management, and electrical drawing interpretation skills with a customer-focused mindset.

• Record of accomplishing technical objectives, maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction, thorough documentation practices, proficient training delivery, flexibility to travel (30–40%), and familiarity with energy efficiency and sustainability approaches.
