Role Overview
Reports to: Country Holding Officer
Work Model: Hybrid
Location: Jakarta, Indonesia or Petaling Jaya, Malaysia
This role contributes to the Finance team and offers the opportunity to ensure that all local businesses conduct their activities in line with ABB trade policies and guidelines. You will drive and coordinate the local implementation of ABB's Global Trade Program as part of the fiduciary duties under the lead business in a country, cluster, region, or regional execution organization.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a single point of contact for local (national) trade compliance authorities and country management in handling trade compliance relating to ABB (deemed) exports, cross-border shipments, customers, or vendors, in case of a country-level role
- Ensure the creation, documentation, and maintenance of trade compliance standards and procedures for all local businesses
- Secure seamless connection between overall trade compliance and day-to-day operations, including master data requirements, supplier qualifications, etc., in collaboration with staff in related domains
- Oversee trade-related archiving requirements and ensure that trade compliance records are kept and retrievable, as defined in the relevant instructions and regulations at local and global levels
- Showcase expertise by overseeing compliance with all applicable customs, sanctions, and export control regulations
- Provide training to the respective country, cluster, region, or regional execution organization
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in International Trade, Law, Business Administration, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in trade compliance, customs, or regulatory affairs
- Strong knowledge of export/import regulations, customs documentation, and SAP GTS or similar systems
- Knowledge of Indonesian customs regulations is strongly preferred
- Proven ability to manage relationships with government authorities and internal stakeholders
- Experience conducting audits and managing permits, licenses, and compliance records
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead training and promote compliance awareness
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to risk mitigation
