About the Role
The Supplier Quality Engineer will provide leadership to ensure "best-in class" quality of product and services to ELIP and its customers. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and execute strategies in collaboration with plants and sourcing teams to establish a robust supplier quality system as well as drive sustainable improvements in the quality of products and services within the ELIP supply base. This is hands-on role serving on the front lines of protecting our customers and supply chain processes.
Reports to: Global Procurement & Logistics Manager
Work Location: Hackettstown, NJ (#)
Travel: Up to 25%
Responsibilities
- Driving approval process for supplier parts, materials, and project subcontractor services, as applicable, involving collaboration with other functions/experts, encompassing activities like Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and product surveillance at supplier manufacturing sites
- Leading in promptly addressing supply issues related to quality, deliveries, non-compliant products, or project services
- Working together with buyers to engage suppliers and prepare claims cases when necessary
- Ensuring required supplier development processes are thoroughly executed to drive continuous improvement of the supplier base
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering
- 2+ years in Supplier Quality or Manufacturing Quality with a significant portion of experience spent in dealing with supplier quality issues
- Strong oral and written communication in English with problem solving and change management of facilitation skills
- Valid driver's license is required for regular business travel
- Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
Preferred Experience:
- Experience with categories such as raw materials (steel, copper, aluminum), plastic resins, injection molded parts, sheet metal and stampings, fasteners, and castings
- Knowledge of quality standards such as IATF 16949

Manufacturing includes made-to-stock and custom-made solutions.

Compensation
Base salary is expected to pay between $57,400 and $91,840 annually, determined by factors such as the successful applicant's qualifications and experience.
