Your role and responsibilities
In this role, we are looking for a Software Engineer – Observability Platform to join our** Digital Industry / Genix Platform Engineering** organization. The role requires an individual with strong expertise in developing enterprise-grade observability solutions that provide end-to-end operational visibility across industrial edge-to-cloud environments. The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and enhancing scalable platform capabilities that enable telemetry collection, operational diagnostics, health monitoring, and actionable insights for cloud-native systems.
The work model for the role is: Hybrid
This role is contributing to the Digital Industry / Genix Platform Engineering function in India (Bengaluru). Main stakeholders include Platform Engineering teams, SRE/DevOps teams, Application and Product Engineering teams, Customer Delivery teams, and internal users of the Genix ecosystem.
You will be Mainly Accountable for:

Design, develop, and enhance software modules for the Genix Health Hub observability platform, supporting end-to-end operational visibility across industrial edge-to-cloud systems.

Build and maintain core platform capabilities including telemetry ingestion and processing pipelines, backend services, and user-facing observability features.

Develop reusable Grafana dashboards, templates, and plugins that provide rich visualizations, operational diagnostics, and actionable insights for industrial workloads and platform services.

Implement full-stack capabilities including APIs, microservices, and user interface workflows supporting telemetry correlation, incident visualization, health insights, and operational analytics.

Contribute to scalable, efficient, and cost-effective solutions aligned with established quality standards and platform engineering best practices.
Software Engineering & Product Development:

Perform software engineering activities across software development, quality engineering, testing, DevOps, software releases, support, maintenance, and release management with limited supervision.

Contribute independently throughout the software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, conceptualization, prototyping, design, coding, testing, release activities, and ongoing maintenance and operations.

Develop highly structured, maintainable, and scalable code while ensuring appropriate technical documentation and adherence to engineering standards.

Provide accurate effort estimates for assigned tasks and ensure timely delivery of high-quality deliverables within agreed project timelines.
User Experience & Platform Adoption:

Identify and understand various user personas interacting with the observability platform and associated applications.

Contribute to defining intuitive user experiences, interfaces, navigation patterns, and workflows tailored to the needs of different user groups.

Support the development of user-centric observability solutions that improve operational efficiency and platform usability.
Collaboration & Operational Excellence:

Collaborate closely with Platform Engineering, SRE/DevOps, and Application teams to onboard services and enhance platform reliability, operability, and observability.

Work with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of observability capabilities into cloud-native applications and services.

Support troubleshooting, issue resolution, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance platform performance and reliability.

Contribute to knowledge sharing, engineering best practices, and continuous improvement initiatives within the observability engineering organization.
Qualifications for the role
-
4–8 years of experience in software development, preferably within platform engineering, observability platforms, or product engineering environments supporting cloud-native systems.
-
Strong expertise in building observability solutions and hands-on experience with Grafana, including dashboard development, templating, plugin customization, and operational visualization capabilities.

Proven experience working with modern observability technologies including Prometheus, Loki, Tempo and/or Jaeger, and Open Telemetry SDKs and Collectors for telemetry collection, processing, and correlation.

Proficiency in full-stack software development with strong front-end development skills using React and TypeScript.

Hands-on experience with backend development technologies such as Node.js, Python, and/or Go for building scalable APIs and microservices.

Solid understanding of Kubernetes environments, preferably Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), including deployment patterns, observability integration, and troubleshooting distributed systems.

Experience developing and integrating APIs, microservices architectures, and cloud-native applications supporting enterprise-scale platform capabilities.

Strong problem-solving skills with experience debugging complex distributed systems and ensuring reliable integrations with observability data stores and monitoring platforms.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively with SRE/DevOps teams, Platform Engineering teams, and Product Engineering stakeholders.

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience delivering enterprise-grade software products.
