This Position reports to: External/Internal Logistics Manager
In this role, you will oversee internal material flow operations and supervise a team of material handlers. Each day, you will ensure the timely and efficient movement of materials to and from production areas, maintain inventory accuracy, and support continuous improvement in logistics processes. You will also be responsible for team coordination, inventory handling, and compliance with safety and operational standards.
The work model for the role is Onsite. This role is contributing to the ABB Electrification Smart Power division in Senatobia, MS.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily activities of material handlers to ensure smooth internal logistics operations
- Plan and allocate material handling tasks to support production schedules and warehouse needs
- Oversee the internal movement of raw materials, WIP (Work-in-Progress), and finished goods between storage and production areas
- Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) for material handling, storage, and transport
- Track material movements using ERP or WMS systems and maintain inventory accuracy
- Conduct regular inventory checks and investigate discrepancies
- Train, coach, and evaluate material handling staff to maintain performance and compliance with safety regulations
- Maintain proper use and care of material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks)
- Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance material flow and reduce waste or downtime
- Report logistics performance metrics and issues to the Logistics Manager
Qualifications
- High School diploma/GED required (Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or a related field preferred)
- 3+ years of experience in internal logistics, warehouse operations, supply chain or related field, including 2 years of supervisory experience
- Strong knowledge of material handling procedures, inventory management, and logistics workflows
- Experience using SAP or WMS systems
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Forklift license or material handling equipment knowledge is a plus
- Ability to prioritize tasks and solve problems in a fast-paced environment
- Candidates must already have a work authorization that allows them to work for ABB in the United States
