Role Overview

In this role as a Sales Engineer for Collaborative Robotics, you will take charge of selling ABB's advanced robots across Switzerland. Your primary focus will be on engaging with a diverse range of customers, from small and medium enterprises to regional global companies, to cultivate business opportunities in the growing field of collaborative robotics. We are looking for someone with an entrepreneurial mindset, a passion for sales, and a practical approach to identifying and pursuing market opportunities.
This role is contributing to the Robotics & Discrete Automation Business Area in Switzerland.
Responsibilities
- Increase sales volume and margin across the ABB Robotics Cobots portfolio while establishing and maintaining effective customer relationships through reliable service and a deep understanding of customer needs and ABB solutions
- Prepare sales plans and bids, manage key accounts (particularly in the consumer industry), and provide customers with tailored products, solutions, and services that align with volume, mix, and profitability targets
- Identify and develop new market opportunities, monitor customer and market trends, and collaborate with the Marketing team to create effective marketing activities
- Monitor competitor activities, implement appropriate response strategies, and share market intelligence insights with the Marketing and Sales organization
- Manage and expand the partner network, ensure efficient coordination of sales activities and transactions, and analyze data to meet business objectives
Qualifications
- Skilled in working with CRM tools such as SAP and Sales Force, with experience in the collaborative robotics market
- Established skills in technical sales support, with first years of experience working in robotics or a related field
- Enhanced knowledge of customer relationship-building methodologies and proficiency in analyzing market trends and competitor activities
- Passionate about customer-focused problem-solving and innovative thinking, paired with proficient organizational skills
- Degree in Engineering, Robotics, Business Administration (with technical focus), or equivalent professional experience in a technical environment
- Proficient in communicating fluently in both English and German, ensuring clear and effective interactions
- Willingness to travel up to 60%, balancing onsite collaboration with virtual engagement to optimize customer relationships
