Position Overview

Reports to: Service Coordinator

Work Model: Onsite; contributing to the Motion Service division in Italy, based in Vittuone (Milan)

You will join a dynamic and collaborative team where you can thrive and develop your skills.

Your Role and Responsibilities

In this role, you will play a vital part in the production, installation, maintenance, and repair of electric motors and generators and related components. You will ensure the smooth operation and efficiency of equipment and systems, performing specialized mechanical assembly tasks as part of the production process.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Executing assigned tasks according to agreed workflows and ABB standard processes, ensuring compliance with safety guidelines
  • Troubleshooting and reporting any issues during assembly or testing
  • Ensuring the availability of required materials to execute work according to defined workflows
  • Maintaining proper operation and daily upkeep of equipment, addressing malfunctions to meet production schedules
  • Occasionally performing activities at customer sites

Qualifications for the Role

  • Solid knowledge of electric motors, bearings, and general mechanical principles
  • Skilled in using mechanical measurement tools (caliper, micrometer, comparators)
  • Basic understanding of mechanical assembly processes
  • Basic knowledge of insulation principles for electrical machines and electromechanical dynamics
  • Office package (xls, word, ppt)
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work in a team
  • Availability for occasional travel to customer sites
