This role sits within ABB's Robotics business, a leading global robotics company. We're entering an exciting new chapter as we’ve announced the plan for Soft Bank Group to acquire ABB Robotics. Field Service Manager:

Your role and responsibilities

As a Senior Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality technical support and service to our customers. You will perform installations, maintenance, and repairs on equipment, ensuring optimal performance and customer satisfaction.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Applying safety rules and safe practices, as well as environmental responsibilities during all service activities.

  • Leading Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) activities at customer sites and reporting unsafe practices and incidents to ensure a safe working environment.

  • Identifying new service business opportunities in close cooperation with customers and ABB teams.

  • Coaching technicians and engineers, and supervising complex site activities and developing, mentoring, and providing technical guidance to colleagues. Acting as a trainer when needed, for both team members and customers.

Qualifications for the role

  • You have at least 5 years of experience in a similar role within robotics, automation, industrial machinery, or electromechanical service environments.

  • You possess enhanced knowledge of electronics, followed by strong electrical, mechanical, or programming capabilities, and can apply these in troubleshooting and system repair.

  • You are passionate about problem-solving, customer communication, relationship-building, and bringing an innovative, solutions-focused mindset to complex technical challenges.

  • You hold a degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Automation Technology, or a related technical field, or possess equivalent proven industry experience.

  • You hold all required valid driver’s licenses for travel in Ontario and Western Canada.

  • You maintain strong communication skills and excel at building positive customer relationships.

While base salary is determined by things such as the successful applicant’s qualifications and experience, this position is expected to pay between $73,275 and $107,470 annually and is bonus eligible.
