About the Role

This role sits within ABB's Robotics business, a leading global robotics company. We're entering an exciting new chapter as we've announced the plan for Soft Bank Group to acquire ABB Robotics. Soft Bank is a globally recognized technology group and investor/operator focused on AI, robotics, and next-generation computing. Reports to: R&D Team Lead

Join the Sevensense by ABB unit as the Team Lead for Robotic Software Infrastructure. This highly versatile and vertical team builds, maintains, and ships the backbone of our robotic and service software stack. Its mission spans two key areas:

• Developer Enablement: Deliver DevOps and internal infrastructure that empowers Sevensense engineers to develop faster, more reliably, and with confidence.
• Customer-Facing Systems: Build and maintain REST APIs, backend services, and intuitive UI frontends that directly deliver value to our customers.

As Team Lead, you'll join a team of seven collaborative, experienced and highly skilled engineers, and combine people management with practical technical leadership. You'll define the roadmap together with the technical team and stakeholders across our unit, mentor engineers, and ensure our infrastructure scales with the complexity of autonomous robotic systems deployed in real-world environments.

Responsibilities

• Managing hiring, onboarding, and encouraging a culture of collaboration, personal growth and technical excellence
• Managing and mentoring a team of software engineers responsible for developer enablement and customer-facing systems
• Taking ownership of and maintaining a diverse set of software systems and technologies aimed at building high-quality robotic systems, together with the technical experts of your team
• Working closely with robotic algorithms, project and product teams to align developments with stakeholder requirements and timeline expectations
• Implementing standards and best practices for code quality, reproducibility, and security

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or similar
• 5+ years of industry experience in software development
• 2+ years of leadership experience through leading teams, projects or mentoring others
• Solid English language skills (German is welcome)
• Experience with docker, development of HTTP based APIs, SQL, DevOps, cloud technologies
• Familiarity with Linux and Debian-based distributions
