Your Roles and Responsibilities
Join our international automation business as Regional Managing Director for Southern and Eastern Asia where you will manage a large, multicultural sales organization and implement the region’s growth strategy. In this senior leadership role, you will shape go-to-market approaches, build customer relationships at the highest levels, and ensure solid commercial performance across multiple countries. The work model for the role is #LI – Hybrid.
This role contributes to the Automation business (B&R – Bernecker & Rainer, a member of the ABB Group) within Machine Automation for Southern and Eastern Asia. The main stakeholders include Global Sales Leadership, HR, Finance, Product Management, key customer accounts at the C‑level, distributors and Value Provider networks, and cross‑functional teams within ABB.
You will be mainly accountable for:

Deliver measurable results and reach top-line growth targets across the region.

Adapt global initiatives to local market needs by expanding go-to-market channels and growing Value Provider networks.

Oversee strategic plans, budgets, compliance, and margin contribution for all countries in the region to ensure operational excellence.

Ensure adherence to corporate policies, integrity standards, safety requirements, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Build and maintain close C-level customer relationships, gather feedback, and enhance customer satisfaction and strategic partnerships.
-
Oversee succession planning in collaboration with HR, conduct talent reviews, and implement capability development across the organization.

Promote the adoption of new technologies, expand service offerings, and ensure effective use of tools such as SFDC for pipeline management and forecasting.

Support global sales initiatives by coordinating with headquarters and cross-functional teams and ensuring implementation of corporate directives.
Qualifications for the role:
-
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business with 15+ years of progressive experience in product management and sales leadership roles.
-
Broad experience in selling to and supporting industrial customers, with a proven ability to develop new markets and leverage alternative channels within industrial automation.

Demonstrated results in senior leadership roles, with essential international exposure and experience.
-
Solid strategic and commercial acumen, with a deep understanding of Industrial Automation and related financial disciplines, and the ability to develop effective strategies and business plans.

Accountable for end-to-end regional P&L, translating growth strategies into strong financial performance and long-term value creation.

Demonstrated organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to prioritize, manage competing priorities, and deliver results through effective problem-solving capabilities.
-
People leadership skills, with demonstrated experience building, motivating, and leading effective teams while acting as an ambassador for organizational culture and values.
-
A highly customer-centric mindset, intuitive, responsive, and focused on delivering high levels of customer satisfaction.
-
Flexibility and willingness to travel up to 50%.
