This Position reports to: Quality Supervisor

Role Overview

As a Quality Logistics Operator, you will play a key role in supporting continuous improvement within the quality department. This position involves hands-on tasks to ensure proper handling of nonconforming materials, maintaining high standards of workplace organization, and assisting in root cause analysis efforts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely disassembly, mutilation, and disposal of scrap materials
  • Operate a forklift to remove and dispose of materials from production areas
  • Maintain accurate records of weights for disposed materials
  • Communicate status updates on waste dumpsters to quality and shipping teams, both orally and in writing
  • Support engineering root cause analysis by cutting nonconforming products using a band saw
  • Maintain saw room and material storage areas to the highest 5S standards
  • Change out forklift fuel tanks as needed
  • Work independently with minimal supervision, managing multiple priorities effectively
  • Communicate clearly and professionally in English, both verbally and in writing
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 2 years of manufacturing experience, preferably in testing or quality assurance
  • Familiarity with basic hand tools (e.g., hammer, screwdriver)
  • Strong situational awareness and safety focus
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Physical requirements: occasional lifting up to 50 lbs; frequent squatting, bending, stooping, sitting, stretching; standing and walking for extended periods; full range of motion and manual dexterity
  • Ability to work in varying environmental conditions (heat, rain, cold)
  • Must have valid work authorization to work for ABB in the U.S.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of 5S principles
  • Forklift experience
