This Position reports to:

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to implement the service strategy and drive service growth at the respective unit level. Each day, you will lead the Service organization and be responsible for the P&L to achieve performance targets and to optimize the utilization of Service resources. You will also showcase your expertise by running the day-to-day service business to ensure profitable growth and improvement of service productivity.

This role is contributing to the Motion business based at Bangalore, India:

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Develops and executes the MG service strategy as part of the MOSE India management team and reporting to Local Division Manager, Motion Services, ABB India
  • Manages day‑to‑day service business to drive profitable growth and improvement of service productivity
  • Monitors and delivers P&L performance, covering financials, productivity, investments, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence.
  • Leads all business verticals, including modernization, field services, workshop operations, spares, and condition monitoring.
  • Ensures strong customer focus, quick response, and effective resolution of customer issues.
  • Maintains consistent delivery and performance standards to enhance quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensures strategic plans are effectively implemented through cross‑functional collaboration.
  • Ensuring that strategic plans are implemented consistently in the service organization through collaboration with other businesses.
  • Driving, implementing, reporting, and monitoring of performance targets as part of the respective unit P&L (financial, productivity, investments, customer satisfaction, operational excellence, etc.).
  • Investing in improving the quality of existing service products and in developing new service products to expand the portfolio in line with global direction.

Qualifications for the role

  • Responsible for Health, Safety & Environment (HSE), business compliance, integrity standards and internal controls
  • Supports Sales teams during customer meetings.
  • Guides, motivates, and develops both direct and indirect reports.
  • Enhances service availability through training and capability development and competencies at highest levels.
  • Ensures the organization is well‑structured, adequately staffed, and highly skilled.
  • Holds accountability for building a capable, high‑performing service organization.
  • 15–20 years of relevant experience in motors, generators, or other electrical/capital equipment, with strong exposure to customer-facing roles.
  • Prior P&L management experience or a solid understanding of business financials and commercial performance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science, with specialization in Electrical, Mechanical, or Electronics disciplines
