Reports to: Business Communications Manager
Work Model: Remote. This is a Global position with a strong focus on the European market and can be based in the UK, Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland, or Sweden.
Your Role and Responsibilities
In this role, you will lead and execute ABB Robotics' global social media and marketing communications strategy, strengthening the company's position as a leader in automation and innovation. Working remotely and contributing globally, you will ensure a consistent, impactful brand presence aligned with global and local communication strategies. As Head of Social Media, you will own the end-to-end global social media ecosystem—strategy, content, governance, and performance—while partnering closely with regions, business lines, senior leaders, and global functions to drive brand growth, engagement, and strategic priorities.
You will be mainly accountable for:
- Define and lead the global social media strategy for ABB Robotics, translating brand, content, and business priorities into clear channel frameworks, governance, and scalable execution across regions
- Own end-to-end social content strategy and operations, partnering closely with Content and Brand to deliver high-impact, social-ready storytelling that supports product, innovation, thought leadership, and major corporate moments
- Manage global channels, communities, and advocacy, including daily publishing, audience engagement, employee advocacy, executive profiles, and influencer partnerships to drive growth, relevance, and credibility
- Establish performance measurement and insights, setting KPIs, building social listening and intelligence capabilities, and translating data into actionable recommendations for leadership and investment decisions
- Lead cross-functional collaboration and operations, acting as the global social media hub for Robotics, managing teams and agencies, aligning with Marketing, Communications, HR, and regions, and driving continuous improvement and innovation
Qualifications for the Role
- Proven experience defining and leading global social media strategies in a complex, matrixed B2B or industrial organization
- Strong strategic and editorial judgment, with the ability to translate complex technical and product topics into clear, compelling social narratives
- Deep understanding of B2B technology and industrial audiences, including long sales cycles and multi-stakeholder decision making
- Demonstrated fluency in LinkedIn and YouTube as primary channels for brand building, thought leadership, and business impact
- Data-driven mindset, with hands-on experience using social listening tools, analytics, and performance reporting to inform decisions
- Solid understanding of brand governance, crisis communication, and risk management in a global corporate environment
- Strong cross-functional leadership and collaboration skills, able to influence senior stakeholders across Marketing, Communications, HR, and regions
- Experience leading teams and agencies, balancing creativity and experimentation with corporate standards, governance, and operational excellence
