Position Overview
Reports to: Project Operations Manager
Work Model: LI# - Hybrid
This role is contributing to the Electrification Distribution Solutions (ELDS) in Malaysia. Main stakeholders are ABB's valued Customers & Partners.
Role and Responsibilities
You will lead a team responsible for executing purchasing and logistics strategies that optimize cost, quality, and supplier reliability. You will ensure compliance with company and procurement policies while implementing effective sourcing strategies aligned with business objectives. Your expertise will help ensure suppliers have the capability and capacity to meet current and future business requirements.
You will be mainly accountable for:
- Manage Buyer, Logistics, and Order Management teams
- Oversee all Supply Chain Management (SCM) activities, including sourcing and vendor onboarding
- Manage logistics operations, including delivery coordination with customers, vendors, and forwarders
- Ensure alignment between local procurement activities and divisional strategy
- Implement programs to improve cost, quality, and delivery in line with global procurement guidelines
- Facilitate full utilization of SAP Ariba for supplier information sharing and sourcing reliable suppliers
- Manage planning and tracking of procurement activities, cost budgets, emerging market spending, and savings forecasts
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, Engineering, or equivalent
- Minimum 8 years of experience in Supply Chain Management and Logistics
- Optional: Experience in SCM & Logistics within the Power Products industry (e.g., Switchgears, Compact Substations, Distribution Transformers)
- Advanced knowledge of SAP Ariba (strategic sourcing, supplier management, onboarding)
- Effective leadership, strategic thinking, teamwork, and growth mindset
- Fluent in English; proficiency in local language
