This role sits within ABB's Robotics business, a leading global robotics company. We're entering an exciting new chapter as we’ve announced the plan for Soft Bank Group to acquire ABB Robotics. Your Role and Responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to ABB’s success with technology, software, product, and system development. Each day, you will identify and implement innovative solutions to relevant problems. You will also showcase your expertise by providing ideas and by being able to work both independently and as a part of a Research & Development (R&D) team.

Main stakeholders are Product Owners, QA teams, DevOps engineers, and cross-functional development teams.

In this role, you’ll help run what runs the world, by taking on meaningful work that drives real impact.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend systems using C# and .NET, including high-performance APIs, distributed services, and database optimization.
• Implementing real-time and event-driven architectures using messaging technologies such as MQTT and AMQP, ensuring system scalability and reliability.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams while contributing to AI-driven development, leveraging coding agents, and participating in code reviews and technical decision-making.
• Troubleshooting complex system issues, managing tasks and improvements in Jira, and actively participating in Agile ceremonies (planning, reviews, retrospectives).

Qualifications for the Role

• You are highly skilled in C#, .NET ecosystem, distributed systems, REST APIs, and messaging technologies (MQTT, AMQP) within the software engineering and AI-driven development sector
• You have 5+ years of experience in backend software development, building scalable and high-performance systems
• Possess an enhanced knowledge of software architecture, design patterns, SQL databases, and performance optimization
• You are innovative around problem-solving, system design, and continuous improvement, with a strong interest in AI-driven development workflows
• Proven experience of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
• You are at ease communicating in Spanish (written and spoken)and English (written and spoken) in an international environment
