Future Opportunity: Sales/Marketing/Channel Sales/Business Development – Talent Pipeline

This is a future opportunity within our talent pipeline. ABB is seeking experienced professionals to join our Electrification business. We are building a comprehensive talent pool of exceptional candidates for sales/marketing/channel/product marketing/business development positions. This is an opportunity to be part of our growing organization and be considered for upcoming roles across diverse channel/business and customer segments. This role plays a critical part in facilitating ABB's business growth and supporting the Electrification business across Malaysia. We are seeking highly motivated and results-driven professionals for positions such as Sales Specialist, Sales Manager, Marketing & Sales Manager, Product Marketing professionals, Segment leads/Manager (Building, Industry, Data Centre), and Sales Specialist/Manager across Channel, Distribution, OEM, and Project Business. This is a valuable opportunity to join our talent pool and be considered for upcoming roles across key industries and customer sites throughout Malaysia.

The work model for the role is: #LI – Onsite, Hybrid.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Developing and executing division sales plans in coordination with sales teams, leadership, and stakeholders to drive revenue growth and market expansion.

  • Analyzing customer needs and competitive landscape through market research, customer insights, and competitive intelligence to identify opportunities and inform strategy.

  • Driving marketing initiatives including product launches, campaigns, and communication strategies to enhance market visibility and support sales efforts.

  • Supporting sales teams and customers in identifying technically appropriate and cost-effective solutions, and preparing competitive/strategic offers based on customer specifications and requirements.

  • Participating in sales strategy discussions and budget negotiations to establish short- and long-term goals, ensuring alignment across divisions and functions.

  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with key customers, channels, and business partners to foster long-term partnerships and identify new business opportunities.

  • Communicating ABB's value propositions for products, systems, services, and packages to customers and internal stakeholders to drive informed decision-making.

  • Supporting cross-functional teams across multiple locations and customer sites to ensure seamless execution and delivery of solutions.

Qualifications for the role

  • Front-end sales for products such as:

  • Low Voltage (LV) Switchgear

  • MCC, PCC, MCB, MCCB, PSS

  • Medium Voltage (MV) Switchgear

  • AIS/GIS Systems

  • Building Automation Systems

  • Power Distribution & Control Products

  • Industrial Automation & Process Control

  • HT Motors, VFDs and Variable Frequency Drives

  • Substation Automation

  • PLC/DCS/SCADA Systems

  • Excitation Systems and AVR Panels

  • Residential, distribution, and control products

  • 2–15 years in front-end sales, marketing, or sales management (Electrification/Automation)

  • Proven success in power distribution or industrial automation sectors

  • Experience in channel, distribution, OEM, or project business models

  • Exposure to multiple market segments (Building, Industry, Data Centre)

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Instrumentation, or related field

  • Strong knowledge of customer specifications and IEC/ISA standards and good understanding of electrification products and solutions

  • Strategic Sales & Business Development – develop and execute winning sales strategies

  • Customer Relationship Management – build strong relationships and manage key accounts

  • Complex Solution Selling – translate customer needs into appropriate technical solutions

  • Market Analysis & Competitive Intelligence – identify trends and market opportunities

  • Communication & Negotiation – excellent presentation, persuasion, and negotiation skills

  • Digital Sales Tools – proficiency with CRM (Salesforce, SAP), sales automation platforms

  • Leadership & Collaboration – lead teams and work effectively across functions

  • Problem-Solving & Interpersonal Skills – analytical thinking and strong people skills

  • Language – fluent in English (verbal and written)
