Your Role and Responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute significantly to successful project results in technology, software, product, and/or solution development, as well as associated Intellectual Property (IP). Each day, you will act as the first point of contact in Research and Development for specific product-related issues and maintenance. You will also showcase your expertise by identifying, proposing, and implementing innovative solutions.
The work model for the role is: onsite/hybrid
You will be mainly accountable for:
- Maintaining recognized expertise in a specific area by integrating the latest developments in technologies, tools, and methodologies into your work
- Finding new ways of solving problems by following your ideas, creating hypotheses, and defining ways to validate them
- Documenting work results (like findings, designs, or software), allowing others to maintain and improve them
- Understanding and initiating IP generation in your area of specialization and participating in the project IP strategy development
About This Opportunity
ABB is seeking highly motivated and innovative R&D Engineers to join its talent pool for upcoming opportunities across Process Automation, Electrification, Automation, and Motion businesses at multiple locations in India. This position is being created as part of a talent pool activity and does not represent an immediate hiring need.

Qualifications for the Role
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5 to 12 years of experience in .Net technologies
- Experience with .Net standard, C#, .Net, Angular, React, Node.js (JavaScript), Python (Django/Flask), Java (Spring Boot)
- Proficient with databases such as MS SQL, SQL Lite, Mongo, Timeseries DB, etc.
- Frameworks: Express.js for Node.js
- APIs: RESTful services, GraphQL
- Authentication: JWT, OAuth
- Experience in IoT API design (e.g. REST, WebSocket) and middleware-patterns (e.g. MQTT, AMQ)
- Middleware patterns understanding of SOLID principles, design patterns, architectural patterns, design tools, data structures
- Practical skills in using Docker/Kubernetes or other container orchestration technologies
- Fluency in English (spoken and written, minimum C1 level)
