Key responsibilities

In this role, you will act as the technical offer lead and design authority for integrated electrical system solutions within the Energy Industries division. Your focus will be on projects in the following application areas:

• Power-to-X (heat pumps, biomass, hydrogen)

• Grid connection of renewable energies

• Battery Energy Storage Systems

• 110 k

V Substation engineering:

• MV/LV distribution Solutions

• and many more.

In this position, you will have the opportunity to support the local sales organization throughout the bid process. As a key technical resource, you will contribute your expertise, foresight, and commitment to address customer requirements and develop optimal solutions. You will also demonstrate your technical expertise by preparing detailed technical descriptions of products and technologies, evaluating costs, and compiling final proposal documentation.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Providing technical advice and solution concepts for inquiries from customers, channel partners, and sales specialists regarding ABB products, systems, and applications

• Performing analytical and diagnostic studies to identify the most suitable technical solutions that meet customer requirements and address complex inquiries

• Supporting the sales team during technical meetings, product presentations, and negotiations with customers

• Assisting the sales organization and customers in identifying the most technically appropriate and cost-effective solutions
  Preparing comprehensive proposals including hardware cost calculations, work plans, resource requirements, as well as risk and opportunity analyses

Qualifications for the role

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering

• Fluency in German and English

• Several years of relevant professional experience as a Bid & Proposal Engineer or Technical Lead, with solid expertise in electrical systems such as HV switchgear up to 110 kV, MV/LV switchgear, transformers, UPS systems, high-power rectifiers and inverters, as well as containerized, E-house, or concrete station solutions

• Ability to work independently, take initiative, and maintain a responsible and structured approach to tasks

• High level of self-motivation, curiosity, and enthusiasm for learning about new technologies

• Collaborative and solution-oriented mindset with strong written and verbal communication skills
