Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to drive service sales processes, generate service sales opportunities and secure profitable sales within the designated areas. Each day, you will focus on Installed Base (IB) penetration and selling the entire Service product portfolio. You will also showcase your expertise by building long-term customer relationships and ensuring immediate response to specific customer needs and issues.

The work model for the role is hybrid.

You will be mainly accountable for:

Penetrating into IB, promoting various upgrades, retrofits, and value-add solutions to the benefit of the customers and ABB.

Understanding the channel strategy and the establishment of related prices, and preparing sales plans, reviewing them, and proposing recovery plan(s) when needed.

Generating service sales leads and developing new market opportunities by utilizing market trend information and through identifying and exploring potential new service portfolios.

Acting as a marketer/salesperson of ABB’s service products and solutions during marketing activities (campaigns, trade fairs, exhibitions, conferences, customer meetings).

You will be responsible for after-sales services to existing customers who use all products handled by the Electrification Business Area (excluding EV chargers).

The main responsibilities include:

① Spare Parts: Proactively propose spare parts packages before product commissioning to prepare for potential issues.

② Maintenance Services: Recommend tailored maintenance plans to customers several months to years after delivery.

③ SLA: Create and propose comprehensive service contracts including on-call response and spare parts coverage.

④ Digital Services: Offer predictive maintenance and digital solutions to a wider customer base, including non-ABB product users.

Qualifications for the role

Service sales experience or heavy electrical equipment industry background

Knowledge of electrical product business

Experience with Japanese industrial customers

Proficiency in MS Office

College of Technology graduate or above (Engineering background preferred)

Japanese language: Native level; equivalent to JLPT N1 proficiency

English lanugage: Business level (reading, writing, and speaking)

Includes regular communication in English via email and chat, as well as oral communication with factories.

Long-term customer focus with strong ownership mentality

Results-oriented and proactive

Collaborative mindset with excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

Solution-focused approach

Ability to thrive in multicultural and matrix organizations
