This position reports to the Engineering Manager.

Our engineering quality and innovation keeps customers ahead in a rapidly evolving market. As part of the Electrification Distribution Solutions team, you will deliver high-quality equipment for powering electrical systems through MV/LV Switchgear, Transformer-rectifier units, DC Switchgear, and LV Distribution systems.

As a Senior Electrical Project Engineer, you will lead technical delivery for complex electrification projects, ensuring compliance, quality, and customer satisfaction. This role requires close collaboration with customers throughout the entire project lifecycle—ensuring technical requirements are fully understood and incorporated into design, execution, and commissioning phases. Acting as a trusted technical partner, you will foster transparent communication and alignment to deliver solutions that meet contractual specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements. You will also coordinate with multiple suppliers worldwide to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Lead technical delivery and mentor the engineering team, serving as the primary technical authority and decision-maker throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Collaborate closely with customers and stakeholders to clarify requirements, address concerns, and ensure alignment from design through commissioning.
  • Provide and review technical solutions against specifications and standards, including subcontractor and factory deliverables, ensuring compliance and quality.
  • Coordinate, delegate, and validate work of internal team members and external service providers to meet project timelines and maintain quality standards.
  • Support project managers with scope changes and risk assessments, while driving continuous improvement and maintaining customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
  • 7-12 years of project engineering experience in a similar industrial environment (an asset).
  • Valid membership with OIQ, PEO, or EGBC (mandatory); other provinces are an asset.
  • Demonstrated ownership, accountability, and strong decision‑making abilities under pressure.
  • Structured, organized, and strategic approach to managing complex technical tasks.
  • Proven leadership capabilities, including mentoring, coaching, and effective conflict resolution.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative, solutions‑oriented mindset.
  • Solid technical expertise in E‑House, power conversion, rectifiers, MV/DC equipment, and substation design, including documentation, testing, and commissioning support.
  • Experience in requirements management (IBM DOORS), deep knowledge of ANSI/CSA/UL/IEEE standards, and strong commitment to safety and continuous learning.
  • Proficiency in French is mandatory, as well as English to communicate effectively with internal clients and partners located outside of Quebec.

Compensation

While base salary is determined by things such as the successful applicant's qualifications and experience, this position is expected to pay between $103,125 and 151,250 annually.
