About the Role

Become part of an innovative development team and actively shape the future of modern medium voltage technologies. In an international environment, you will work on groundbreaking solutions for next-generation vacuum switching chambers. You will combine sound technical expertise with practical implementation and work closely with interdisciplinary expert teams. Work Model: Hybrid (#)

Employment Type: Full-time preferred; part-time applications welcome

Responsibilities

You are primarily responsible for:

  • Contributing to the development of new medium voltage products in the field of vacuum switching chambers
  • Preparing and building prototypes in the experimental workshop and in series production
  • Conducting development and type tests in close collaboration with certified test laboratories
  • Investigating and analyzing tested prototypes as well as structured evaluation of experimental test and measurement data
  • Interdisciplinary collaboration with other ABB units and external partners within the framework of international R&D projects

Qualifications

  • Completed bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a comparable technical field
  • First experience in research and development, testing, or production of electromechanical components (advantageous)
  • Confident handling of measurement and testing equipment and pronounced interest in practical, experimental work involving prototypes
  • Solution-oriented mindset, analytical strength, and structured approach to complex experimental data
  • Excellent German and English language skills (written and verbal) for secure communication in international projects
