ABB's Automation business area enables customers to operate some of the world's largest and most complex industrial infrastructures, helping them outrun – leaner and cleaner. Reports to: Service Center Manager-PAPI West Region
Key Responsibilities
- Execute service work as per work instructions and in accordance with ABB quality and safety guidelines for our Quality Control Systems (QCS)
- Deliver quality customer service planning and execute service work as per customer order and expectation
- Showcase your expertise by ensuring customer retention by effectively communicating service work timeline and expectations
- Work with the customer (while on-site) to identify opportunities to improve the customer's operations and eliminate pain points
- Perform field service tasks, identify technical issues, and perform analysis through remote or on-site activity in service categories and products for which you are certified to perform
- Prepare material lists needed for service activity and ensure that all materials, parts, and equipment are available and of appropriate quality for service activities
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in a related field and 10+ years of electrical/electronics, instrumentation or process control related work/military experience desired; OR
- HS diploma/GED and 12+ years of related work/military experience desired
- Ability to use electrical test equipment such as voltmeters or multi-meters
- Mechanical/Electrical aptitude including a basic understanding of electrical theory and electrical safety
- Ability to read electrical drawings and utilize them for troubleshooting electrical systems
- Ability to diagnose malfunctioning electrical systems up to 240 VAC/870 VDC and perform preventive maintenance using electrical test equipment
- Knowledge of how to identify voltage systems that are above the level 240 VAC/870 VDC
- Resident position working out of the customer location, with ability to travel up to 15% for required training and assisting other sites
