.NET Application Development Manager

This position reports to: IS Manager
We are seeking an experienced and passionate .NET Application Development Manager to lead our internal Information Systems (IS) application delivery team. You will be responsible for planning, designing, developing, and delivering high-quality .NET solutions to support critical business operations. Your role will ensure the robustness of system architecture, the quality of code, and the efficient management of the entire lifecycle from requirements to deployment. You will directly manage and mentor a development team of 3-4 members while collaborating closely with other technical and business departments.
Responsibilities
You will be mainly accountable for:
Team Leadership & Project Management:
- Manage and guide the development team (approx. 3-4 members), being responsible for task allocation, code reviews, technical guidance, performance evaluations, and career development planning to enhance overall team capability
- Ensure all application development projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget
System Architecture & Core Development:
- Lead the application system architecture design, technology selection, core module coding, and performance optimization using the .NET technology stack
- Ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and highly available
End-to-End Technical Oversight:
- Take charge of or deeply participate in the entire process from requirements analysis and detailed design to coding, integration testing, and deployment
- Establish and enforce development standards, code management strategies (e.g., Git), and CI/CD pipelines
Microsoft Platform & Infrastructure Integration:
- Design and implement solutions based on the Microsoft technology ecosystem, including Azure cloud services and on-premise environments
- Possess in-depth understanding and practical experience in system deployment, change management, permissions control, and cyber security, etc.
Collaboration & Communication:
- Act as the technical lead, maintaining effective communication with business stakeholders, global and local IS teams, vendors to ensure technical solutions are closely aligned with business objectives and compliant with ABB standards
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum of 7 years of .NET full-stack development experience (with proficiency in C#, .NET Core/.NET 5+, ASP.NET MVC/Web API), including at least 2 years in a technical team lead or project management capacity
Core Technical Competencies:
Back-end & Architecture:
- Mastery of object-oriented design and common architectural patterns (e.g., MVC, Microservices), with familiarity in Entity Framework Core, dependency injection, multi-threading, and asynchronous programming
Front-end Technology:
- Experience with at least one mainstream front-end framework (e.g., Vue.js, Angular, React) and ability to guide the team in front-end and back-end separation development
Database:
- Proficiency in SQL Server or MySQL development and performance optimization
Cloud & Infrastructure:
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure (or other major cloud platforms), and knowledge of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker), system deployment, monitoring, and permissions management
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies such as Scrum
Soft Skills:
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities to effectively address technical challenges and project risks
- Outstanding communication, coordination, and teamwork skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Fluent English is preferred to communicate with global teams
