Position Overview
This Position reports to: Group Manager O&G, CH&R Safety Execution Centre (SEC) with Define » Navigate » Assure (DNA) are Energy Industry teams working in Functional Safety related areas for Oil & Gas, Chemical & Pharma, Life Sciences and Power & Water sectors.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to manage a team of designers, engineers, consultants and specialists to deliver high quality, cost effective, and timely engineering solutions to ABB end customers. Each day, you will formulate plans, allocate resources, coordinate and cooperate with our partner ABB offices to meet the agreed contractual and financial targets, to grow and evolve together. You will also highlight your expertise by initiating, coordinating, driving, and overseeing team development and continual improvement of processes and procedures to strengthen the engineering & design capability.
Work Model: Multiple office-based including traveling to other locations
Contributing to: OGCP Group of AUEN Department in Ostrava, Brno and Pilsen

Key Accountabilities
- Providing direction to the engineering team with a focus on functional safety, cybersecurity, on time delivery, quality, and margin improvement
- Ensuring the projects/operations value chain portfolio follow sound methodology and execution practices in accordance with internal standard procedures and that the projects are closed as per the contract specifications
- Initiating, coordinating, driving, and overseeing continual improvement of processes and procedures to strengthen the engineering/design capability and efficiency, utilize agile methodologies to reduce engineering lead time, and enhance functional safety and cybersecurity
- Driving team performance to ensure that the deliverables are met on time and as per the set contract specifications and safety, cyber security, and quality requirements
Strategic Leadership
- Align the department strategy with divisional goals to enhance EUOPC AUEN´s value, ensuring their successful implementation
- Drive EUOPC added value growth and engagement with local divisions
Team Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop skilled engineering teams
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement to ensure the team is motivated and equipped to meet business needs
Customer Engagement
- Build and maintain strong relationships within AUEN and with all OPC partners
- Seek feedback to provide innovative solutions that meet their needs
- Support the divisional sales team in preparing and presenting proposals to win new business
Project Management
- Oversee the full lifecycle of engineering projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality, safety, and cybersecurity
Process Improvement
- Continuously improve processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and operational capability
- Implement best practices and ensure compliance with industry standards
Collaboration
- Work closely with supply chain, operational support services, and project management teams
- Negotiate with suppliers and ensure all contractual obligations are met
- Provide technical consulting and support during the proposal and testing phases
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a leadership role within engineering, operations, or a related field
- Good understanding of sales, project management, supply chain, and quality control processes
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- A record of building and leading high-performing teams
- Experience in Energy Industry (such as Oil & Gas, Chemical & Pharma, Life Sciences, Power & Water) sectors is an advantage
- Functional Safety related experience is an advantage
