Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to support the assigned Sales organization (division and market) and customers during the proposal process. Each day, you will serve as a key technical resource in the assigned area. You will also showcase your expertise by preparing technical descriptions of the products and technology, determining costs, and preparing final documentation.

  • As a Technical Sales Support Specialist
  • Control Systems to support medium-to-large projects across Power Generation, Water & Wastewater, Petrochemical, Oil & Gas, and Renewable Energy sectors. The role involves providing technical and commercial support during the pre-sales and tendering phase, delivering complete electrical and related control system solutions aligned with customer specifications, industry standards, and project execution strategies.

The work model for the role is: Hybrid

This role is contributing to the Automation Energy Industries division in South Korea.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Offering technical advice and solutions on inquiries from customers/channels/Sales Specialists about ABB integrated electrical and control system solutions (DCS, PLC, SCADA, SIS, MCC, VFD, protection relays, grid systems).

  • Performing analytic and diagnostic studies to determine the optimal technical solution to meet customer needs and address complex inquiries.

  • Developing and maintaining new sales opportunities and resolving specific customer problems; and ensuring achievement of targets on orders, Net Price Variance (NPV), and Net Promoter Score (NPS).

  • Ensuring the achievement of budget goals, including volume targets and profitable growth, across all assigned product groups and in the respective countries.

Qualifications for the role

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Power, Control, or Automation Engineering

  • 8–10 years of experience in technical sales support, application engineering, or proposal engineering

  • Experience with industrial and energy projects, including Power Plants (CCPP/Coal/Renewables), Water Treatment, Oil & Gas, and Petrochemical facilities

  • Proven experience in EPC projects and familiarity with OEM solution portfolios

  • Strong understanding of electrical systems and industrial control architectures, with the ability to develop commercially competitive technical proposals

  • Excellent analytical, documentation, and presentation skills, with the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary and multicultural teams

  • Excellent English communication skills and native Korean proficiency
