Your role and responsibilities (Mandatory)

This is a technical Leadership role in Cloud and AI platform, reporting to the Digital Solution Engineering Manager in ABB Ability™ Genix - industrial analytics and artificial intelligence Platform in business area Process Automation located in Bangalore. You will be leading the Product delivery team including Platform Services at Ability Innovation Center (AIC), home to the largest technology and engineering pool in ABB globally and is a part of ABB Global Industries and Services Private Limited, a subsidiary of ABB. It is based in Bangalore, the silicon-valley of India. Its unique infrastructure places research, development, engineering, and service teams under one roof, increasing collaboration and reducing time to market, with no compromise on quality.

This role is contributing to the Digital Business technical Leadership role in Cloud and AI platform.

You will be mainly accountable for: Product Development:

• Provide technical leadership, set coding standards, and architectural guidelines.
• Architect and Design (HLD & LLD) complex software systems involving AI/ML use cases, MLOps around C#, .NET / Python, and Angular.
• Create the WBS for the feature that needs to be incorporated.
• Ensure that the team follows cybersecurity best practices and provide continuous guidance to improve the coding practices
• Ensure the team follows best practices in coding, testing, and debugging.
• Conduct code reviews to maintain code quality and adherence to standards.
• Implement and enforce automated testing and continuous integration practices.
• Identify and address performance bottlenecks in software systems.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, including architecture diagrams and design documents.
• Collaborate with team to plan for product roadmap, demonstrate MVPs and work with product management team on planning and prioritization of features
• Ensure documentation is accessible and up to date for the development team.
• Create and maintain the product design, architecture documentation and is accessible to all stakeholders.

People Management:

• Manage and mentor a team of developers, providing technical guidance and career development support.
• Delegate tasks, set priorities, and ensure the team's productivity.
• Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, stakeholders.
• Provide regular sprint status updates and reports.
• Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture.
• Review dependencies and remove technical blockers to ensure independent work progress by team
• Manage and collaborate with stakeholders outside the team to ensure effective collaboration among teams involved.

Scrum Processes:

• Act as a Scrum Master or work closely with one to ensure adherence to Agile and Scrum methodologies.
• Facilitate sprint planning, daily stand-up meetings, sprint review, and retrospective meetings.
• Encourage a culture of continuous improvement within the team.
• Identify opportunities to optimize the Scrum process and increase team efficiency.
• Provide coaching and training on Scrum practices as needed.

Qualifications for the role (Mandatory)

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Proven experience (7+ years) in a technical leadership, working with software engineering teams.
• Expert knowledge of LLMOps principles, NLP frameworks and architecture of systems
• Deep understanding of different model types, management and monitoring of large number of AIML models on a production environment
• Experience in model monitoring concepts for different types of language models
• Experience with Azure cloud computing services, such as Azure App Service, Azure Cosmos, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Cognitive Datalake, Azure SQL Server
• Strong knowledge of data structures and algorithmsssss
• Experience with designing & developing scalable, microservices-based systems with asynchronous programming and design patterns
• Expertise in working in CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test, deployment processes.
• Ability to design and implement complex, scalable, and secure web & Rest API applications
• Understanding of Industrial IoT protocols and standards, such as MQTT, OPC UA.
• Experience in mentoring team members and helping them grow professionally. Excellent documentation skills and the ability to communicate complex concepts.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to foster a culture of knowledge sharing within the organization.
