Your role and responsibilities (Mandatory)

In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead the execution of supplier audits and assessments, drive both corrective and preventive actions based on supplier maturity and performance levels. Each day, you will manage operational supplier quality, both on-site and off-site, ensuring the thorough execution of supplier qualification and development processes.

This role is contributing to the MOHP BL Motors and Generators in Finland. Main stakeholders are Finnish SCM, SQE Team and Chinese suppliers.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Driving approval process for supplier components, parts and materials, involving collaboration with other functions/experts, encompassing activities like Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and product surveillance at supplier manufacturing sites.
  • Leading in promptly addressing supply issues related to quality, deliveries, non-compliant products, or project services.
  • Working together with category managers, SQEs and buyers to engage suppliers and prepare claims cases when necessary.
  • Ensuring required supplier development processes are thoroughly executed to drive continuous improvement of the supplier base.

You will join a team of experts, certified lead auditors, Six Sigma Black & Green belts, where you will be able to grow your competence and skills and thrive.

Qualifications for the role (Mandatory)
Strong understanding of modern quality thinking, including data‑driven quality development, proactive prevention, human‑centric approaches, and the integration of digital tools into quality management of mechanical engineering industry.

Proficiency in Lean, Six Sigma or other structured continuous improvement methodologies, with the ability to apply them to supplier development, process stabilization and systematic problem‑solving.

Solid command of professional quality tools, such as APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC, 8D, control plans and risk‑based thinking.

Experience with digital quality systems and relevant software, e.g., QMS platforms, statistical analysis tools, document control systems, supplier performance dashboards, and data‑driven monitoring tools (IoT, digital traceability, analytics).

Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications, including GD&T, material and process requirements.

Understanding of industrial production processes, supplier manufacturing environments, and typical quality risks associated with machining, casting, welding, heat treatment, insulation systems, or surface finishing used in motor and generator manufacturing.

Relevant experience in heavy industry, rotating electrical machines, or industrial equipment manufacturing, preferably involving electric motors, generators, drive systems or related mechanical/electromechanical components.

Excellent communication skills, including fluent English for internal collaboration and native‑level or highly proficient Mandarin Chinese for effective communication with local suppliers.

Bachelor’s degree or above in a relevant engineering field, such as Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Materials Engineering or a related technical discipline.
