Position Overview

Reports to: Chapter Lead, Electronics HW

Work model: Hybrid

Location: Quartino, Switzerland

We are looking for an R&D Senior Hardware Engineer to join our Electrification business. The selected candidate will join a team working on Power Distribution Converters.

Your Role and Responsibilities

  • Realize the design of architecture and technical details, the circuit simulation and the development of electronic projects which requires knowledge of analog, digital and low power electronics
  • Work with cross-functional teams to define and implement new requirements for FPGA/CPLD solutions
  • Take care of design optimization by identification of technical, architectural and circuitry solutions, exploiting the highest integration with the rest of product (mechanical part, sensors and implementation) and collaborating with the Company departments involved in the Product Development Process (Marketing, Engineering, etc.)
  • Run the project development, implementing the executive drawings, support and give all the necessary indication for the PCB design
  • Carry out preliminary tests for design pre-validation
  • Support the Test Lab during all the testing phases, evaluate synthesis of reports of Test and Quality Laboratories and express your definitive opinion on validation of final product
  • Draw up the technical documentation required for production of the electronic product and carry out activities to support and maintain the product when requested

Qualifications

  • Bachelor or Master's degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering with 5+ years' experience in design and analysis of power conversion topologies, analog signal conditioning/filter stages, digital circuit and overall electronic component selections
  • Experience with electrical systems and complex power electronic systems
  • Experience with programmable logic (FPGA, CPLD)
  • Experience with EMI design and troubleshooting
  • Experience with oscilloscopes, function generators, current and voltage generator, power analyzer and other test equipment
  • Familiar with electronic board re-working
  • Familiar with Altium Designer software or equivalent and with PSPICE simulator
  • Knowledge of PCBA manufacturing processes is a plus
  • Excellent command of English
