Manufacturing Project Manager and Continuous Improvement
About the Role
This Position reports to: Production Manager
As a Manufacturing Project Manager and Continuous Improvement, you will manage equipment modernization and automation projects. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing projects related to the improvement, replacement, and/or automation of production equipment. As part of your various mandates, you will be involved both in the technical execution and in the business justification of projects.
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate equipment replacement and automation projects, ensuring cost, quality, and schedule objectives are met
- Estimate project costs and perform analyses to support project justification and approval
- Provide technical support during equipment installations and participate in system commissioning
- Coordinate project implementation and start-up activities with production and maintenance teams
- Contribute to defining the strategic vision for planning automation and equipment replacement projects
- Identify automation opportunities and conduct technology scouting to recommend the most appropriate solutions for upcoming projects
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Automated Production Management (APM), or any other relevant field
- 5 to 10 years of experience in manufacturing project management
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, move projects forward, and manage competing priorities
- General knowledge of automated systems, robotics, PLC programming, machine safety, and other manufacturing technologies
- Knowledge of steel stamping and machining processes (an asset)
- Excellent communication skills in both English and French. English is required to communicate with clients outside Quebec
