Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute significantly to successful project results in technology, software, product, and/or solution development, as well as associated Intellectual Property (IP). Each day, you will act as the first point of contact in Research and Development for specific product-related issues and maintenance. You will also showcase your expertise by identifying, proposing, and implementing innovative solutions.

This role is part of the Sevensense team at ABB Robotics in Spain and Switzerland. This is a
unique opportunity to build, optimize, and maintain the secure IT foundation that enables our
engineers to develop industry‑leading visual navigation systems.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Setting up, managing, and optimizing the IT infrastructure, hardware, and networks for our newly established and growing Barcelona office and other on-prem and cloud infrastructure from remote.
  • Collaborating on a day-to-day basis with your IT peers in Zurich to ensure seamless technical operations, and standardized workflows.
  • Acting as a bridge between the local sites and global corporate stakeholders to understand, navigate, and implement ABB Robotics' corporate IT policies and procedures.
  • Enforcing robust cybersecurity practices and ensuring local compliance with global corporate security standards.
  • Providing hands-on endpoint management, software provisioning, and day-to-day IT support for the local team.

Qualifications for the role

  • 5+ years of professional experience in IT Administration, Systems Administration, or IT Infrastructure.
  • Valid Cybersecurity certification is required (e.g., ISC2 CISSP, CISM, CompTIA
  • Security+, or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in setting up and configuring IT infrastructure for new office locations or scaling environments.
  • Strong understanding of corporate IT policies, governance, and enterprise-level stakeholder management.
  • Solid knowledge of networking (firewalls, VPNs, routing), OS deployment, and endpoint management (Linux).
  • You are at ease communicating in English (essential for daily collaboration with the Zurich team and global corporate stakeholders).
  • Bonus points for previous experience supporting R&D, engineering, or robotics
    environments.
