This Position reports to:

Engineering Manager

Your role and responsibilities:

As a Bid Manager, you will support customers to improve efficiency, save resources, and reduce emissions that give our work a powerful sense of purpose. This exciting and dynamic work environment fits a communicative person with a customer orientation, as well as a high level of personal responsibility.

This role is contributing to the Process Automation business for Energy Industries division based in Bangalore or Chennai, India.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Preparation of technical/commercial offers based on customer specification requirements, Local Business Unit, and Sales organization directives.

  • Be the single interface towards customers and ensure timely and proactive communication

  • Responsible for the bid during the whole sales phase, from lead until signing the contract.

  • Set up and collaborate with ABB group functions, such as Legal, Finance, Taxes, and Insurance.

  • Use experience and understanding to add to the Bid plans and decision-making as the tendering process evolves

  • Coordinate with the procurement team and maintain support from internal and third-party suppliers

  • Analyse project proposals and cost plans and prepare for risk review

  • Defines cost for the proposed solution and communicates to the Sales organization.

Qualifications for the role:

  • Minimum 10 year’s experience in the energy industries.

  • Experience in engineering and project execution is an advantage.

  • Ability to work independently, but with a strong team-oriented attitude

  • Good communication skills

  • Preferably experience in solution sales or project management

  • Knowledge about market requirements and standards within the industry is positive.
