Position Overview
Reports to: Principal Project Engineer
In this role you will be reporting to Technical Authority and will be primarily responsible for provision of sound technical solutions in line with project requirements, leadership, mentoring, ensuring the project manager / engineering team leader are kept informed of progress and issues in a timely fashion. Ensuring that activities related to all service engineering disciplines within the project are efficiently and cost effectively executed in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards and safety requirements.

Your Role and Responsibilities
- Leading end-to-end DCS projects comprising of scope of automation systems for energy industries sectors, working on automation projects and leading activities of basic and detailed engineering of automation systems including hardware and application engineering, testing, commissioning and service
- Ensuring preparation of technical specifications that are in line with project specifications, preparing, approving of engineering deliverables like SLD, GA, FDS, etc., and performing technical review before submission to ensure that the deliverables are as per the customer technical specification
- Creating proposals and developing engineering solutions, driving the management change (new scope of work, cost impact, time impact, risk quantifications etc.)
- Creating schedule and having good process for planning and control
- Carrying out technical risk reviews and ensuring risks are mitigated with clear actions, working closely with cross function / LBU teams to achieve customer acceptance, consultants and ensure timely approval of project deliverables
- Acting as the technical lead for all engineering disciplines within the project
- Interacting with customers and all stakeholders
- Attending project review meetings and presents all technical aspects of project assignments
- Actively developing and coaching the project engineering team and colleagues, supporting with technical advice and guidance
- Collaborating closely with business, end users and teams to design and to address specific business / technical challenges and on time delivery
- Adhering to all the processes, tools and methodologies
- Capturing customer complaints and timely solution, updating reusable solutions, work-around and problems handled into database and following safety norms and ensuring safe working environment
Qualifications
- B.Tech or B.E from a reputed university with first class in Instrumentation / Electronics / Electrical engineering
- Minimum 9 to 14 years of experience in process automation – especially in the field of Oil & Gas / Refineries / Petrochemicals / Power & Water
- Experience in process control automation system - hardware & application engineering, HMI engineering, library development, 3rd party communication, FAT and SAT
- Knowledge on process / fire and gas protection systems / emergency shutdown systems / field instrumentations and IEC 61508 and IEC 61511 standards
- Experience in leading DCS - brownfield scope of work, application modifications, retrofits, system upgrades, servicing and commissioning
- Working knowledge on interfaces (Profibus, Modbus, OPC, IEC61850, etc.)
- Experience in ABB systems like 800xA, MOD 300, SG400, Advant, AC800M, Harmony, In-fi90, Melody, Process Portal B, Symphony Plus will be an added advantage
