This Position reports to: Business controller
The Senior Financial Analyst plays a strategic role in analyzing, planning, and managing the company's financial performance. This position provides in-depth analyses, prepares detailed reports, and supports strategic decision-making. The role requires strong analytical skills, professional rigor, and excellent communication abilities. This position contributes to ABB Canada's Electrification division and is based in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu. The work model is primarily on-site, with 4 to 5 days per week in the office.
Responsibilities
- Analyze financial results and management reports
- Develop and monitor annual budgets
- Prepare financial forecasts and profitability analyses
- Identify and assess financial risks
- Standard cost management: establish, analyze, and adjust standard costs
- Cost calculation process optimization: collaborate with production and accounting teams to improve cost accuracy
- Provide strategic recommendations to management
- Ensure compliance with accounting and regulatory standards
- Develop financial models and perform benchmarking analyses
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Present financial results to stakeholders
- Contribute to the improvement of financial processes and participate in cross-functional projects
Required Skills and Qualifications
- University degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
- Significant experience in financial analysis (5+ years)
- Proficiency with office tools and financial software (Excel)
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Critical thinking and attention to detail
- Fluency in French and English
- English is required to communicate with clients outside of Quebec
