About the Role

This position reports to the Production Manager and contributes to the Cutouts 2nd shift production team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead a team within a Production unit or line to execute production processes, transforming parts and raw materials into ABB products in a timely and cost-effective manner. Each day, you will ensure continuous and efficient operation in accordance with volumes, schedules, procedures, drawings, and quality and safety standards and policies. You will also showcase your expertise by organizing and allocating resources to meet line production targets effectively and efficiently.

Responsibilities

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Ensuring that production scheduling and production plan meet the volume requirements agreed upon in the demand plan and defined inventory service levels
• Recommending technical equipment and facility improvements as necessary
• Identifying deficiencies in production area, proposing improvement activities, and overseeing implementation of actions to improve production performance
• Managing the resolution of critical product or equipment issues together with relevant internal teams
• Knowing all safety and environmental rules/regulations that affect the work area
• Leading a high quality, effective start of shift production meeting, ready to discuss all production issues, maintenance needs, etc. from the previous shift
• Maintaining awareness of current or potential process and/or equipment issues under your area of responsibility
• Using appropriate tools (WI's, SOP's, JST's, etc.) to establish and maintain a high level of operational and reliability discipline

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college or equivalent work experience
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in leading in a manufacturing or product development environment or equivalent leadership experience
• Excellent supervisory and leadership skills
• Some project management skills to lead small Kaizen projects
• Six Sigma Green Belt or a proven track record in leading continuous improvements projects
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software to complete reports and logs
• Ability and willingness to travel as required
• Legal authorization to work in the US is required
