Job Description: Job Title: Lead -US Federal Income Tax Collaborate with Innovative 3Mers Around the World

The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a Lead – US Federal Income Tax, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

• Preparing and reviewing U.S federal income tax return calculations, including earnings & profits (E&P), foreign tax credits, NCTI, FDII, stock basis, and various book-to-tax adjustments.
• Preparing and reviewing various U.S. return fillings such as 1120 forms and attachments, 5471s, 8858s, and country-by-country reporting (CBCR).
• Analysing financial data, workpapers, and supporting schedules to identify variances, ensure completeness, and validate for accuracy.
• Partnering with Global Tax and Finance to gather information to calculate and support U.S. federal tax provisions and U.S. federal income tax returns.
• Preparing quarterly and annual income tax provisions in accordance with ASC 740. Analysing deferred tax assets and liabilities, uncertain tax positions, and effective tax rate drivers.
• Supporting IRS audit requests and internal reviews by providing well-documented, accurate data and analysis & preparing account reconciliations.
• Contributing to continuous improvement efforts, including automation opportunities and enhancements to documentation

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance or a related field
• Professional certification such as CPA/CA/CMA/CIA/ACCA/CISA
• At least 8 -10 years of work experience in tax including experience in U.S. federal income tax returns including U.S. international components
• Proficiency with tax compliance software (e.g. Corptax, One Source, or similar)

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Knowledge of tax accounting under U.S. GAAP
• Proficient in MS Excel and significant knowledge of SAP
• Advanced proficiency in English & good oral/written communication skills.
